Still Working Away, but in the Meantime...........

Still sewing on all those stockings in my spare time. Eventually I'll get finished, and when I do, I'll show them to you.
In the meantime,  I thought I'd show you a taste of the quality of the items that will be in the blog store.........when I'm finally able to finish getting that open(!)
I've posted several of the shop items in the etsy store for now, but will move them when the blog store opens. When exactly will that open? Ummm, wellll, ummmm, as soon as I finish learning to use the shopping cart feature properly, which I hope will be sooner rather than later.

Remember me telling you about that favorite fabric I love so much?
Here it is in a set of feather pillows, embellished with a deep red chenille, a textured dotted copper fabric, and a woven, high sheen polka dot, and finished off with a whimsical, pouncey, multicolored fringe and beautiful trims.
Click on picture to enlarge and see details.

The top right hand picture is the true color of the fabrics. And yes, I will change the pictures before I post them in the store.
These are a great set of comfy feather/down sofa pillows. It's a one of a kind set, as will be most of the things in my new store.

I'm trying out the mosiac maker in an effort to make my posts a bit shorter since I tend to 'over-post' pictures.
Find that little goodie right here.

Been Working Away on These

Checking back to show you a sneak peek of what I've been doing in the workroom today. I decided to make a few Christmas things for the store. I've cut out and partially pieced 20 stockings today, and a few mittens. I'm going to sell the mittens as stockings too.
Here's a peek....................

See all those stacks of fabrics on the side of the table? Those are going to be more stockings, banners, mittens, and pillows. I'm thinking about making some mantle scarfs too, but haven't decided yet.
I'm still in the layout phase, so I haven't made any final decisions on the trims and fringes yet.
I went to sew some of the laces on that I had in stock, only to discover that they were too white for these color combinations.
You know what happens when something in my house is too white, right? It goes into a vat of tea!
So, while all of these trims are soaking, I thought I'd take a minute and blog about what I've been up to today.

What do you think of the stockings so far? Do you have any ideas for other holiday items I can make for the store? I'd love your suggestions. I'm going for a "Holiday in the Country" look.

And just to tease you a little more, here's another pic from the workroom:

Until next time........................

In the Workroom

This is where you'll find me all day today, working away on a little sumpin-sumpin for my store. I'll post what that sumpin-sumpin is as soon as I finish.

I'm trying to get the store open by mid November, so I have to work, work, work to make it happen.
(SIDE NOTE: My Store and my etsy shop are not the same thing. Once I get the store open, the etsy shop will only have fabric and tassels.)

Here's a little tease of my workroom. I'm going to clean it up this week and post pictures so you can see where I work. I have two very large rooms, connected, and I'm lucky enough to fit everything I need in there.

In the meantime, here's a tip for those of you with your own work spaces. I needed a solution for hanging all of my trims, separately, and here's the fix I came up with. I'm a bit of an organization freak.

These are bamboo plate racks, but any wood plate rack would work. I cut them in half, and screwed them onto my wall. Perfect solution for separating my trims!

I'll post the full workroom next Sunday and show you a lot of other organizational solutions I've found that work great when you need everything accessible without having it all in a heap at your feet.
