Gone Thrifting

Don't you just love it when you run across a great little shop when you're out thrifting?

I DO TOO!

I found this one a few weeks ago and wanted to share.
It's located in an old house, and every single nook and cranny is filled with fabulous treasures. Even the bathroom, seriously. And when you're finished looking in one house, they have another one right next to it full of stuff too.

I just love, love, love to browse in unique shops.

Junkyard Gypsies is located in Bowling Green, KY.
If you're ever in my area, head over and take a peek. And then come by my house for a cup of coffee.

(I have not been compensated for this post. I simply wanted to tell you about a great shop I found.)

Do you know any shops or antique malls in the area that spans from Elizabethtown, KY to Nashville, TN? How about fabric stores?
I'm not having much luck finding many by myself. boo.

  4. There is a place like this about thirty minutes from me, if it is still there, as I haven't been over there in the past year. I love going through the old house, and even peeking at all the stuff in the bathrooms. Wish they had another next to it! Two would be double the fun. ♥

  5. Polly - this is tooooo funny. I too, found the Junk Gypsies about 3 weeks ago. Bought all kinds of stuff - even the cake plate that I painted and featured on my blog (currently posted). The owner was super nice - I loved every minute (make that two hours) I spent in there!!!!! I know there are several other consignement stores in that general area - did you find the others. They were all closed when I was there because it was Monday - lots of us "shopkeepers" are closed on Mondays. Oh well, we all have to have a day off now and then. So glad you found it! How close are you to Bowling Green - I knew you moved but wasn't sure where.
This post made me smile - small world isn't it? Have a great week! Cathy

  8. What a cute shop. Believe it or not, when I saw the first picture I thought of a little shop that I got to visit while I was in KY and then I found out that is where you are at. There are some really fabulous little shops and even one that is now housed in an old dairy barn near Rocky Hill, KY. I am going to forward this a friend of mine who owns P K Glitz and she is always finding shops with lots of great items.

  9. I love Textile Fabrics in Nashville. It's in the Berry Hill area and they've got Amy Butler, Heather Bailey and Anna Maria Horner: The Trifecta of Fabric. :)

  11. Janelle here with P K Glitz in Rocky Hill, KY. There are actually many great antique shops in our area (15 miles north of Bowling Green and then further north). First there is the large Antique Mall just north of the Corvette Museum. Then Smiths Grove has several and on up Hwy 65 you can't miss Glendale's antique shops, just wonderful. I am familiar with them because each May and November when we have our Art Retreats, we give the attendees a map so they won't miss a thing either coming in or on their way home.
