Joining the Party over at Funky Junk!

Donna is having another party this weekend over here.
This time it's all about vignettes. Lots of gals are already linking up, so I decided to join the party myself. I've never joined a blog party, and I'm not really sure who Mr. Linky is, but I'm told it's painless to get to know him.

Let me preface this post by saying that, as I was taking these pictures, I realized that I shouldn't take pictures in my house at night. My lights are really yellow - I must change that some day. Maybe tomorrow I'll retake these pics during the day and replace the dark ones. For now, bear with me.
Edited 10/28 to add: I changed the pics to ones taken during the daytime. I just couldn't get past so much of the yellow coloring. I left the first pic as is because I couldn't get a good one in daylight.

Starting in the living room, and traveling through a few more rooms, I'll just post the pics without explanation since this party is just about the look.
I hope you enjoy my little vignettes.

I hope you've found a little inspiration in some of these.
Happy Decorating!

  1. What a beautiful home! As I was looking at your photos I found myself wishing I could tour it in person. Great colors and textures and I love all your silver platters!

  2. Great vignettes. My favorite is the one with the silver tray & the frames prints on easels. That one speaks to me for some reason. Thanks for sharing yours.

  3. These pictures are beautiful. I think the yellow light you mentioned actually looks stunning too, gives it an olde-worlde feeling.

  4. Polly, what a beautiful home! Elegance and flair everywhere you look! These pics simply aren't enough. It's as if the walls are cut much too short as a tease. I must go investigate a little deeper here. :)

I see you are a designer by trade. Boy could I learn alot from you.

Thanks for linking up to the party!

  5. oh yes!!! I like!! Thanks for sharing these nice little spots with us!

  6. You have a beautiful home and loved all your vignettes. My favorite was the shelf with the turkey and chicken pitures over it. You are good at what you do. I think the yellow light gave it cozy feel.

  7. Hi - I found you via Funky Junk Interiors recap of the Saturday Night Vignette party. Your hanging display of old silver pieces caught my eye because I have been collecting some pieces and was going to do a similar display. I loved seeing how you displayed yours....thanks for the inspiration.

  8. Oooooh that last picture -I just adore those trays! Funky Junk girl was right - I am in awe! Btw, you've prob heard this a zillion times, but you look just like that beautiful singer from the Country trio, gosh darn I can't think of the name. Well you know who I'm talkin' about. And yes, it is a compliment!!! Kim

  9. Thank you so much ladies. I really try to make our home comfortable for us, so I certainly don't follow any decorating rules in my own home. If I see it and like it, it comes home with me, and I find a place for it after the fact. I try to surround myself with things I truly appreciate and find beauty in.

Kimmcl, would that be Natalie Maines of Dixie Chicks? Funny thing is, I've never gotten that comment in real life before, but since I started this blog, I hear it all the time. Isn't that weird? I'm gonna have to go look up her picture.

  10. Beautiful work you do!I love the rustic/vintagy feel to your vignettes, very chic!:)

  11. I found not a little but a whole lot of inspiration in these pictures!! Wow- great ideas! Love all the silver- I have been getting my tarnished stuff out and using it like crazy too!

I realize we all have busy lives, and taking the time to comment is not always easy. When you do find that time, it makes me appreciate you even more. If you like what you see or read, feel free to pass on the link to my blog with others. Thank you so much for stopping by!

I try to respond to everyone that comments, so if you do not receive a response, it's possible that you are a "No-Reply Comment Blogger" and may not know it, which means I can't find your email addy. Copy and paste this link in your browser to find out how to fix it.
